Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Ali is an Independent Director of The Premier Bank PLC and currently serves as the Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

He was born into a respectable Muslim family in Sylhet district. He obtained MSS (Economics) & LLB from Dhaka University and was awarded MBM (Masters in Bank Management) degree from National University. Mr. Ali served in a significant leadership role at Bangladesh Bank as Executive Director, where he was responsible for overall supervision and policy implementation. He started his career in 1988 by joining Janata Bank PLC as a Senior Officer and in 1989 he joined in Bangladesh Bank as an Assistant Director. Apart from working in different departments of Bangladesh Bank, he also worked in Ansar VDP Unnayan Bank Limited and one stop service in the Board of Investment under Prime Minister’s Office (on deputation).

Apart from his normal professional activities, he keeps himself engaged in different social and volunteer services. Besides, he regularly composes poems, stories and essays for different newspaper and magazines. He is the author of Money Multiplier Slot: A guide to Stock Market, a book that reflects his deep understanding of capital markets and financial literacy.
